Vortrag: "The Immersed Boundary method"

16.04.2025 | FANG SW, BAM, BTM, MMP

The immersed boundary method represents a numerical fluid-structure-interaction technique and can be used for biological applications.

Besides a general introduction to the Finite Element-based formulation of the IB method, I will present a numerical approach for handling different viscosities/densities, a fully implicit time-stepping scheme, an active cell sorting device and an optimal control problem to improve the sorting efficiency.

The presentation will be held in English and is therefore suited also for international students.
