LaTeX is a typesetting system commonly used to produce professional scientific documents and presentations. LaTeX allows you to focus on creating content while the system takes care of layout and formatting.

- Development environments for LaTeX
- Basic elements
- Document structure
- Page layout
- Text formatting: Lists, footnotes, margin notes, tables, formulas
- Usage of counters and lengths
- Definition of custom commands and environments
- Inclusion of graphics, images, and source code
- Creation of presentations
After completing this course, you will be able to use LaTeX to produce professional-quality scientific documents such as theses, research papers and presentations. You will be able to manage document structure, format text, include graphics and customize your documents.
The course is taught in English and online via Zoom. It is taught as an "inverted classroom", which means that the course material can be studied independently based on weekly instructions and exercises. The attendance time is reserved for answering questions and discussing solutions to exercises.
Important information:
- You need a computer capable of running a LaTeX environment (Windows, MacOS, Linux) for completing the weekly exercises.
- The final exam is written on the Schweinfurt campus Ignaz-Schön-Str. The exam may contain multiple choice questions. Allowed aids are communicated at the begin of the semester.
- You must attend the online first session to maintain your registration in the course. Attendance in the other session is recommended but not mandatory.
