Measurement Data Analysis for Engineers with FlexPro - Prüfungsnummer 9958370

The analysis of measurement data is an important part of an engineer's job in professional practice.

In many cases, proprietary software from a measurement device supplier or Microsoft Excel is used for this purpose. The measuring device software is often designed for only one hardware system and is very specialized, while Excel is not made for the analysis of data with high sampling rates. The individual use of programming languages for measurement data analysis is also possible, but requires good programming skills.

In short: customizable and easy-to-use software packages for measurement data analysis and visualization are rare. This gap is filled by the software FlexPro, which has established itself as an insider tip and quasi-standard in this area.

FlexPro is used worldwide by engineers, scientists and measurement technicians in industry, research and education for the evaluation and presentation of technical data. The software is designed for ease of use (according to the Excel operating concept), but at the same time able to evaluate large amounts of data and to easily automate analyses. FlexPro supports data import of numerous (measuring device) file formats as well as data presentation with the help of diagrams, tables and documents. Standardized calculations can be realized with so-called analysis objects, individual analyses with FlexPro's integrated (easy to learn) script language FPScript. Interfaces for full automation using VBA or other programming packages are also available. Info can be found at:

This course is intended to familiarize students with the possibilities of FlexPro and to introduce them to the topics described. All topics are taught using practical FlexPro application examples.

Modalities and recommendations:

  • The software is available to universities for free. It can be installed on the students' end devices, but will only run on Microsoft Windows. Alternatively, FlexPro can be used in PC pool rooms in Schweinfurt.
  • This course takes place online and is open to students from both locations, Würzburg and Schweinfurt. Please participate with your camera turned on.
  • Special mathematical knowledge or programming experience is not required. However, a study with a technical background (engineering sciences) or, alternatively, a study from the mathematical-scientific area is recommended.
